It is all about the details! Fashion design details make the difference from head to toe, in the form of accessories such as headpieces, lingerie, hosiery, shoes, and jewelry. Don’t know where to begin? Consult this useful checklist and start shopping!
Veil & Headpiece
Veil- The choice of veil will depend on the style of wedding gown you choose and the formality of the event. You will have a selection of fabrics and lengths to choose from.
Headpiece – The headpiece is really jewelry for you hair. Brides are starting to look at headpieces as something exciting and personal. The headpiece needs to balance and match your gown. You must also consider the hairstyle you want when considering a headpiece.
Wrap
Whether it is a light shawl or a dramatic fur cape, a wrap can serve as both drama and warmth.
Footwear
-Purchase bridal shoes early so you can bring them to your first fitting.
-Your wedding gown’s fabric/texture should match as closely as possible to the fabric/ texture of your bridal shoes.
-Choose a shoe style that will complement your wedding gown.
-Pick a heel height similar to what you normally wear on a daily basis.
-Purchasing expensive bridal shoes doesn’t always ensure a better fit. Try on different styles and brands.
Gloves
There are many glove lengths, styles, and fabrics to choose from, just remember you will have to do something with your gloves when it is time to place the ring on your hand during the ceremony. You will have the option of cutting the seam on the ring finger glove, taking the gloves off during the ceremony, or purchasing fingerless bridal gloves.
Jewelry
Today’s bridal jewelry often includes rhinestones, diamonds, Swarovski crystals, Austrian crystals and pearls.When selecting your jewelry consider your ceremony style, veil style, and hairstyle. Make sure your jewelry does not overpower the dress and that the color works with the gown.
Purse
Choose a small clutch purse, sweet bridal bag with drawstring, or a simple satin handbag, there are many styles and options to complete your bridal look.
Lingerie
Here is a quick checklist: Bra/Bustier, Underwear, Hosiery(buy an extra pair), Garter, Slip, Bodyshaper (if needed)
